Art pop from the North of England and the songwriting vehicle of Francesca Pidgeon. Say you are coming, join the Facebook event page Here
Dilettante is the brain-child of multi-instrumentalist and longtime BC Camplight member Francesca Pidgeon. Live shows are a genre-phobic loop-fest, featuring everything from fuzzy guitar licks to 5-part saxophone harmonies.
They have sold out headline shows across the UK and have supported the likes of Self Esteem, Caribou, Graham Coxon (Blur) and Philip Selway (Radiohead) as well as festival appearances at Kendal Calling, Live at Leeds, Manchester Jazz Festival, Focus Wales and The Great Escape.
Dilettante’s debut album 'Tantrum’ was released in October and Francesca has begun scoring for films, winning a nomination for best composer at Underwire Film Festival. The live band consists of Francesca, alongside Aaron Collins-Wood (bass) Jack Mee (drums) Katie Pham (guitar/synth/vocals/percussion) Caitlin Laing-McEvoy (sax/synth/vocals) and Robin Koob (violin/synth/vocals) in various formations.
For fans of St Vincent, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple, tUnE-yArDs, Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein.
